ETOBICOKE, ON: As their pre season comes to a close, the Hawks women volleyball team looks to host the Redeemer Royals in their seasons home opener this Thursday.

Last Time VS Redeemer

The last time these two teams faced off was in February of the 17/18 season. During this match, the Hawks were able to glide easily over the Royals 3-0. (25-13, 25-14, 25-19)

The lead scorer from the Hawks for this match was Breanna Golding with 9 kills, who has not returned to Humber this year.


Scouting Redeemer:

• Redeemer lost their first game of the 2018/19 season to St.Clair last week 0-3. (27-25, 25-23, 25-21)

Outside hitter Abby Sluys had a total of 11 kills in this match.

•They have a total of 5 rookies and 9 returning players


Hawk Notes:

There are a total of 10 rookies and 7 veterans on the team this year.

• The Hawks played numerous games in different provinces with the goal to perfect their game for the OCAA season.

• With wins over teams like MSVU, Niagara College and Mount Taylor, the Hawks have exhibited promise going into their first league game of the season.


History Watch

The Hawks hope to extend their record OCAA win streak of 152 games this year.

Fourth year player and current team captain Kyla Wilkins is currently ranked number 3 in Humber athletics for career digs. As she is only 26 digs behind 2nd place, it should not be long until she triumphs into 1st.
