ETOBICOKE – No. 12 Humber women's volleyball (14-2, 2nd West) made quick work of the Cambrian Golden Shield (12-3, 3rd West) and cruised to a straight-set win (25-11, 25-14, 25-13) on Sunday afternoon at the Hawks' Nest.

Sunday afternoon was also an opportunity for the Hawks to celebrate their graduating student-athletes. Amy Connely, Hannah Manners, Keyome Ellis, Lexie Zicari and Reese Cholette were honoured before the first serve for their years of service to Humber women's volleyball.

Match recap

Emotions ran high at the Hawks' Nest as this match marked the final regular-season appearance for five Humber players. But the Hawks remained focused, knowing the result here would be crucial in maintaining second place heading into the playoffs.

Humber channelled that emotion into a dominant opening set. After a double block from Keyome Ellis and Kaley Rawlick, senior Amy Connely landed an ace that touched the end line, forcing Cambrian into a timeout at 11-5. The Hawks never allowed Cambrian to take control, closing out a 25-11 set, which was the Golden Shield's worst set performance of the season.

The Golden Shield got off to a hot start in the second set, scoring three consecutive points. But that momentum was short-lived. Humber's seniors continued to show their importance, with Hannah Manners and Ellis responding before Rawlick fired back-to-back aces to seize control. The Hawks rolled to a 25-14 win.

The third set followed the same script, as the Hawks dictated play from the opening serve and secured another quick 25-11 win.

All five Humber seniors were named the Players of the Game, combining for 40 points, 33 digs and nine service aces.
