MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Humber curling closed out the 2026 OCAA Curling Championships with silver medals in both the men's and women's divisions on Saturday at the Dixie Curling Centre.

The Hawks advanced to the gold medal games on both sides but ultimately settled for silver. This marks the seventh straight season that Humber curling has brought home hardware in both divisions.

Men's curling recap

The Hawks faced the heavily four-time defending provincial champion Mohawk Mountaineers in the semifinal, keeping the draw close through the early ends. Mohawk held a slim 5-4 lead after five ends, but Humber turned the momentum by stealing the remaining ends to secure an 8-5 win.

In the gold medal game, Humber squared off against the Sault College Cougars. The Cougars set the tone early with a commanding 8-2 lead after four. The Hawks responded with a two-point end to stay within reach, but the Cougars answered back to maintain control. Humber ultimately conceded in the seventh end to capture a silver medal.

Matthew Abrams was named to the First-Team Championship All-Star, while Liam Murphy and Matthew Moretto earned Second-Team Championship All-Star nods.

Women's curling recap

In women's competition, the Hawks opened the day with a tightly contested semifinal against the Mohawk Mountaineers.

The draw remained close throughout, with neither team giving much away in the house. The Mountaineers forced an extra end, but Humber scored the winning point to edge Mohawk 5-4 and advance to the final.

The gold medal game featured Humber facing the Niagara Knights in a back-and-forth battle that came down to the final stones. Niagara held a narrow 5-4 lead entering the eighth end, and Humber skip Hailey Brittain drew a stone onto the button to give the Hawks a chance to steal the win.

However, on the final shot, Niagara skip Julia Markle delivered the takeout to remove Humber's stone from the four-foot, sealing a 9-4 victory for the Knights and leaving Humber with silver.

Amy Johnson and Hailey Brittain were named to the First-Team Championship All-Stars, while Claire Hastings earned Second-Team Championship All-Stars.
