MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Humber curling delivered consistent performances through three days of round robin play at the 2026 OCAA Curling Championships, securing semifinal berths on both the men's and women's sides.

The Hawks are hosting this year's championship at the Dixie Curling Centre, with semifinal, bronze and gold medal draws set for tomorrow.

Men's curling recap

Humber men's curling finished round robin action with a 3-2 record, which was enough to secure third place in the standings and advance to Saturday's semifinals.

The Hawks opened the championships with a dominant win over the Durham Lords. Humber kept Durham off the scoreboard for most of the draw by controlling the house, cruising to a 9-1 win.

On day two, the Hawks faced a tough test against the four-time defending champion Mohawk Mountaineers. Humber built a 3-0 lead through three ends, but Mohawk settled, and the Hawks suffered a narrow 5-3 loss. Humber responded well in the next draw, capitalizing with the hammer by scoring three points in the seventh end to defeat the Niagara Knights 9-5.

With a split on day three — 5-2 win over the Confederation Thunderhawks and a 5-3 loss to the Sault College Cougars — the results were enough to lock up a semifinal berth.

Women's curling recap

On the women's side, Humber women's curling proved to be one of the most consistent teams throughout the round robin schedule. The Hawks, in search of their first provincial gold since 2020, finished with a 4-1 record to advance to the semifinals.

On day one, Humber jumped to an early 5-0 lead through three ends against the Durham Lords and never lost control, securing a 9-2 win.

Despite a narrow 8-5 loss to the Mohawk Mountaineers in draw two, the Hawks bounced back by controlling the middle ends against the Niagara Knights to earn a 7-3 victory.

Humber closed out round robin play with a pair of wins on Friday. The Hawks capitalized on the hammer advantage in both of their draws. First, securing a 12-4 win over the Confederation Thunderhawks, highlighted by a six-point first end, before controlling the middle ends in a 7-4 victory over the Sault College Cougars.

The Hawks finished with confidence and positioned themselves well heading into medal play.
