Kroes, rookie of the year

Jayce Kroes named Humber Rookie of the Year

Jayce Kroes made an immediate impact in his freshman season, emerging as one of the OCAA's most dynamic and reliable newcomers. The Milton native was named OCAA Rookie of the Year — becoming the first Humber rugby player to earn the honour since 2014 — after consistently bringing high energy, relentless defensive pressure, and leadership beyond his years to the lineup.

Kroes finished the season with three tries in six matches, delivering in key moments throughout the year. His impact was highlighted in Humber's 26–14 road win over Durham, where he recorded a try to help secure back-to-back OCAA provincial titles for the program.

Kroes is just the fourth rugby player to garner the Rookie of the Year award, and the first since 2014.
