Hawks Debut Strong at Historic ACXC Mixed Relay Nationals

LONDON, ON – The Humber Hawks Cross Country team made a significant debut on Sunday at the inaugural 4 x 2km Mixed Relay Senior format at the Cross Country Canadian Nationals, held at Fanshawe Golf Course. This marked the first time this exciting event has ever been featured at the national championships.
Despite the wintry conditions and very cold weather (high of -2 degrees C and the low was -16 degrees C), the Hawks showcased their depth by fielding three teams in the competition, capping off their 2025 season with impressive national rankings.
Podium for Alpha Team
The ON Humber Hawks Alpha team delivered the top performance for the college, finishing unofficially third in the country with a final combined time of 32:04.1.
- Liam Bauman ran the fastest men's split for the group with a time of 7:05.6.
- Jennifer Hartnell followed with a strong 8:47.4 split.
- Chino Rodney Tagay then took the third leg, running a blazing 7:02.3 split.
- Catherine Irwin anchored the team with a 9:08.8 split.
Top-5 Finish for Beta Team
The ON Humber Hawks Beta team secured a notable fifth-place finish in the country. This team was highlighted by an outstanding opening leg.
- Former Hawks Provincial Bronze Medalist Mason Biswas started the team, running a blistering fastest overall split of 6:56.6.
- Skylar Allsopp followed with a 9:07.4 split.
- Kyle Obico ran the third leg in 8:00.4.
- Christina Serrano rounded out the team with a 9:11.2 split.
Gamma Team Secures Top-10 Spot
The ON Humber Hawks Gamma team completed the Hawks' showing by finishing seventh in the country.
- Jean De Grano-Lacroix kicked off the race for Gamma with a 7:47.9 split.
- Sofia Peña Castillo ran a 10:12.6 split.
- Joshua Pascoe then delivered a fast 7:03.3 split.
- Veteran Zoë Collat anchored the team with a 10:01.8 split.
Looking Ahead to 2026
With the ACXC race concluded, the Hawks have officially ended their season. The program now looks forward to bigger and better things in the fall of 2026, with a strong core set to return.
