ETOBICOKE, Ontario: The Hawks provided an exciting and consistent home opener that piled on the points from beginning to end of the match to build their record to two early wins on the season. Johnny Sheridan led the game with 18 points off of two tries and four converts.

The excitement stemmed from physical approaches from both squads but the Hawks were first to break the ice with a try and convert from Sheridan. Mohawk stepped up their defence and held the Hawks to a 10-0 lead for majority of the half and scared the Hawks with opportunities of their own to equalize the match. Humber lucked out on Mohawk's try attempts with timely knock-on's and rode off the rest of the half to a 17-0 lead on a try from Bradley Watts.

Once Humber started they couldn't stop and Mohawk got into an even deeper hole thanks to two tries from Daniel Bald. The Hawks were way ahead with a 31-0 lead halfway through the second half but didn't take anything away from their intensity and closed out the match in the end zone with a try from Jonmichael Fletcher and another convert from Sheridan. Humber took the 43-0 victory with ease.

Fletcher was named the Hawks Nation Player of Game for his aggressiveness and his scoring. The Hawks are back in action when they hit the road for Georgian College on Oct. 1 at 3 p.m.
