ETOBICOKE: In just its third year of existence, the Humber Softball Classic has grown into one of the most prestigious club tournaments in the province. What started with five teams on one field has now grown to thirty-one teams with four divisions, and played on six fields. The only thing holding it back from growing any larger is the availability of fields, certainly not the lack of teams as the waiting list continues to increase.
Bantam Tier 1 and 2 will take to the fields at Dunton Park in Mississauga, while the Midget 1 and 2 will have all of their games at the Brampton Fairgrounds.
Highlights of this tournament include instant web updates, participation packages/gifts for all athletes, championship awards, player of the game awards, tournament all-star team and MVP recognition, selected diamonds with full game announcing, complete with walk up music, on-site therapy and tournament photographers.
The Humber Hawks women's softball players will be the hosts, and will play a number of roles in the event, including grounds crew, concessions and announcers. Funds raised from this tournament will support the team's spring trip in 2016 to South Carolina.
