The Humber Hawks Badminton Team is headed to London this weekend for the Fanshawe Invitational.

The Hawks are coming off an impressive showing at the Georgian Team Badminton Challenge, where they went a perfect 7-0 in capturing the title. The program, among the most decorated in the sport, are coming off a season that saw them add to their unparalleled legacy. In 2013/14, Humber won a pair of Provincial Championship's, also producing six OCAA All-Stars and a couple of All-Canadians. The blue and gold head into the year led by those two All-Canadians in Ryan Chow and Tracy Wong; Tracy was also named CCAA Player of the Year while Chow took home OCAA Player of the Year. On top of the accomplished set of returning players, the Hawks will feature some of the country's top incoming talent. Adam Dong ad Olivia Lei head into their first year at the college with incredible resumes, and may very well immediately become two of the best players in the country.

The team has been dominating in Ontario for the past seven years, producing ten All-Canadians in that short time, easily the most in the province. Since 2008, the program has also taken home an unmatched fourteen OCAA Gold Medals and eleven National Medal's, including two gold's. The team's players have shone in the classroom as well: last year alone, Badminton produced five Academic All-Stars, as well as Ryan Chow's being named a CCAA Academic All-Canadian.

Leading the way for the Hawks will be former star Raymond Wong, who took over the squad after an outstanding playing career. His resume includes winning provincial championships in doubles and singles play, a CCAA National Bronze Medal in Singles, and a legacy cementing Gold medal at Nationals in Mixed Doubles. He and his family's contribution to the Badminton Program is so extensive, he is a natural fit to lead the program into the future.

Play is set to get underway on Friday, stay tuned for updates throughout the tournament.
