WEARY HAWKS DROP 3-0 MATCH TO ACADIA AS EAST COAST SWING CONTINUES

WOLFVILLE, NS: On Friday, the Hawks women's volleyball team travelled north of Halifax to Wolfville to play Acadia University's Axewomen in their third game of their exhibition series in Nova Scotia.

In the opening set, the lead rotated between the two teams as they stayed within two points of each other for the entirety of the match. This intensity carried on as they were tied at 24-24, before the Axewomen stole the set from the Hawks at 24-26.

Starting off the second set, the Hawks had a four point advantage and continued to lead the score board for the majority of the match. Despite this strong start, the Axewomen slowly caught up to the Hawks and swept the match away from under them at 23-25.

The Hawks had a lack of stability in the third set as they tried, and failed to execute their offence. Pushing as hard as they could for a fourth set, the Hawks gave Acadia a lead which they were unable to recover from. This caused them to lose the third and final set at 25-19.

On Saturday, the Hawks look to shake off this hard loss as they play their final two games of the east coast swing. First, they match up against Mount Alison University and then end the weekend with a rematch with MSVU.
