SCARBOROUGH, ON: A lot is riding on tonight's OCAA men's basketball semi-final match-up between the Humber Hawks and the number one ranked Sheridan Bruins. Not only does the winner advance to play for OCAA gold on Saturday, the victor will advance to the CCAA National championships in PEI in two weeks.
Contests between these two teams is littered with legendary games, and this one is shaping up to be another. The two teams met in the semi-final last year, with the Hawks overtaking the Bruins in overtime. Humber went on to win OCAA gold and CCAA silver.
Humber holds a 12-4 record in all-time post season play.
Sheridan finished first in the West with a perfect 16-0 record, while the Hawks completed their regular season at 12-4. The Bruins took both matches this year, but both were tight.
Humber advanced to this game by way of an 82-61 win over the Seneca Sting. Sheridan knocked off Redeemer 100-85.
