BRAMPTON, Ont -- Looking to end its season on a high note, the Humber (16-8 3rd OCAA) softball team was home, to play two against Mohawk College (10-14 4th OCAA) on Tuesday evening. Coming off a split with Conestoga on Saturday, the Hawks looked to end their season strong heading into the OCAA Championships and that they did, sweeping the doubleheader 15-0 and 10-0.
HUMBER 15, MOHAWK 0
In her first start of the season, Humber sent Jheri Jamieson to the rubber to get this doubleheader started. Jamieson would be effective in this outing as she allowed a walk on three hits in her four innings of work. The story though was the Hawks offence. Humber's offence was relentless in game one, pounding out 15 hits and plating multiple runs in each of the four innings in which they played. Aaliyah Davidson would smack her third home run of the campaign, while Kyra Gay hit a three-run home run to ensure the Hawks 15-0 win. Davidson would lead the team with six RBIs in the game, with Gay (3), Gregoris (3), Murphy (2), and Vassos picking up the others.
HUMBER 10, MOHAWK 0
The second game of the doubleheader saw much of the same for Humber, as they got another stellar performance on the mound by Bree Donaldson. Donaldson would throw a no-hitter in the outing, going five strong innings, walking two and punching out three Mountaineers. Offensively, the bats were hot once again. In all, Humber would get 14 hits and none bigger (literally and figuratively) than Sam MacCallum's moonshot to deep left and Terah Camilleri's pinch-hit walk-off home run to deep right field. The Hawks would spread out the RBI duties, as MacCallum (2), Meaghan Murphy, Alexa Vassos, Kyra Gay, Terah Camilleri, Sarah Franchetto, and Maddie Pasma drove in the runs in the effort.
