HAWKS CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON AT HOME VS SENECA AS PLAY-OFFS LOOM

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks men's baseball team, 2018 OCAA regular season champions, will close out the regular season with two afternoon games on Saturday afternoon at their home of Connorvale Park, against the Seneca Sting.

LAST TIME OUT VS SENECA

On the back end of doubleheader at the home of the Sting, it was the Hawks who won game two 13-1, and completed the sweep of Seneca. Humber only produced eight hits on the night to produce the 13 runs, as a couple of Seneca errors aided the Hawks cause. David Sigmund pitched five innings to secure the win, while Aidan Murphy pitched one inning in the mercy-rule shortened game. A trio of Hawks had two safeties on the night, while Denis Dei Baning crushed a grand slam on his way to a five RBI outing.

 

SCOUTING SENECA

  • The Sting came up with a big win last week, knocking off the third place Fanshawe Falcons 8-1 in London
  • Adam Koffman was on the mound and earned his second win this  year
  • Seneca checks in last place in runs scored (45) and has given up the most this year (130)

  • With the season coming to an end, and the provincials still a week (+) away (October 19-20 at Oshawa), the coaches will be looking to find ways to keep the team sharp and the arms ready for the playoffs
