The Athletic Departments mentorship program enter it's third year of existence for the 2016-17 season, as first-year students are paired with senior mentor's. The mentors will equip freshmen students with the skills for academic and life success (i.e. studying, test-taking, time management, goal-setting, critical thinking and problem solving), tools to promote self-advocacy and self-monitoring, and aid in the challenges of transitioning into College. A mentor will be a motivator, advocate, nurturer, sounding board, and key liaison to the support-network available to student-athletes. The goal of this Humber Athlete Mentorship Program is to expand and offer this additional support to all first-year students and at-risk students in the years to come.
